ITB's Informatics Engineering Program Officially Receives ABET International Accreditation
American Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) announced on Monday (September 22, 2014) in an official letter addressed to the Chancellor of ITB that the Informatics Engineering study program had officially received international accreditation. This news was immediately good news for the ITB students. civitas academica ITB is recognized for its growing number of study programs, which are recognized for their quality comparable to those of universities around the world. Informatics Engineering has now surpassed the achievements of Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Ocean Engineering. Consequently, ITB now has seven study programs officially accredited by ABET.

This ABET accreditation is a brilliant achievement, but it will be the starting point of a continuous improvement that must be implemented by the study program. The systems that have been carefully designed by Informatics Engineering and other study programs must be continuously developed to meet community needs. ITB recognizes that its graduates will eventually apply their knowledge to the wider community. Therefore, the curriculum, facilities, and student character development must be continuously adapted to keep pace with developments in both local and global communities.
