3 Informatics Teams STEI ITB successfully advanced to the Final Round of compfest2011

Compfest2011, or Computer Festival 2011, is a one-stop IT event organized by students from the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Indonesia. The main event is an exhibition and workshop, which discusses open source tools such as GIMP, WordPress, and more.

Apart from the two events mentioned above, there are still many competitions being held, one of which is being participated in by several students from School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Bandung Institute of Technology. The Android Game Design Competition is a type of competition participated in by ITB students which ultimately led to 3 teams reaching the final to show off their skills with other final participants on the date 24 – 26 Juni 2011 in Jakarta. Proudly the 3 teams are

  1. The Dongskar Pelangi team (Listiarso Wastuargo, Raka Mahesa, Timotius Nugraha Chandra, and Karol Danutama) with their work "Defender Apocalypse." Defenders Apocalypse is a tower defense game that tells the story of a chaotic Earth where the only safe haven (Eden) has been invaded by mutants. The main objective of the game is to prevent Eden from being invaded and taken over by mutants. Interested in watching the video? here..
  2. Phinisi Team (Setia Negara B Charu, Muhammad Anis, Mifta Farid, and Sibghatullah Mujaddid) with “Cacoon”. The Cacoon game is a game that takes an environmental theme and tries to teach its players to always keep the environment clean. This game shows the efforts of a worm named “Cacoon” to clean the environment from trash thrown by humans. The trash is buried in the ground and we as players must help Cacoon to dig so that it can collect the trash. The tools to help the worm are stones that have different effects depending on the type of stone given. The goal of this game is for Cacoon to be able to collect all the trash using stones.   3. The Org.Com Softworks team (Alfian Ramadhan, Muhammad Hilman Beyri, Prisyafandiafif charifa, Bharata Kalbuaji) with “Gundu Tubruk!”. Gundu tubruk is a turn-based arcade game played by multiple players. Players can hit their marbles when their turn comes. The game ends when all opponents lose. This game can be played repeatedly and by different players. Players will get additional marbles if they win a game. These wins will be recorded. Marbles with different and varied patterns will be obtained when players can reach a certain number of wins. Interested in watching the video? here..

The Android Game Design Competition is a competition where participants are asked to create a game on the Android mobile platform with the theme "Innovation". The main target of this competition is students and Android developers throughout Indonesia. We pray that the three teams can successfully bring home the Champion title. Bravo, STEI Students.
