Programmable Network Testbed Workshop with 100 Gbps Capacity at the Telematics Lab of STEI ITB

Currently, STEI ITB is collaborating with KEIO University to build testbed programmable network with capacity link maximum 100 Gbps which is used to develop various telecommunications technologies, computer networks, and internet services.

Ditengah proses pembangunan testbed This year, from February 15 to 17, 2024, STEI ITB accepted four students from KEIO University Japan as participants. Workshop 100G Programmable Network Testbed. The students from KEIO University had the opportunity to be the first outsiders to try using testbed which was built in the Telematics Lab of STEI ITB. For three days, the participants consisting of: Daiya Yuyama, Yuta Ito, Jumpei Funayama, Yuhei Umezawa learned various things guided by the team from the Telematics Lab of STEI ITB, namely Dr. Eueung MulyanaGalih Nugraha Nurkahfi, Muhammad Hilmi Fawwaz, Ihsan Saddan Rivaldi, Ega Helmi Mubarok, and Patricia Adventia Pratama.

There are several materials presented during . took place. On the first day, participants learned about the basic concepts testbed and how to access testbed and basic concepts border gateway protocol (BGP). On the second day, participants learned to implement an inter-ISP network using BGP, as well as a case study in the form of a small project to implement Topologi Spine and Leaf. Apart from that, there are also . about research vehicular communicationOn the final day, participants are required to present the learning outcomes of the previous two days.

According to Dr. Ahmad Husni Thamrim, a lecturer at KEIO University, he also accompanied KEIO University students in this workshop. Testbed Facilities like this are still very rare in educational institutions, therefore this facility has a strategic role to play in collaborative research with other research institutions and universities. To date, the development process is ongoing. testbed masih terus berlangsung.

There are several researches currently underway on this topic. testbed this, namely: testbed smart provisioning, vehicular communication, and DDoS detection system . .The latest research is the result of a collaboration between STEI ITB and Universitas Sains Malaysia (USM). In the future, it's possible that other parties will join in and conduct research utilizing this technology. testbed This includes one party that initiated research collaboration, namely the BRIN telecommunications research center, several of whose researchers took the time to visit during the workshop.

Therefore testbed This can be utilized by parties outside ITB, so support is needed in the form of providing network access provided by the ITB Directorate of Information Technology (DTI); including connecting testbed This is with the Indonesia Research and Education Network (ID-REN) and the Arterial Research and Educational Network in the Asia Pacific (ARENA-PAC), so that it can be used by research institutions and universities in Indonesia and even in the Asia Pacific.
