The official website of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) www.itb.ac.id was first released to the public in 1997, one year after the Internet was introduced at the Institute. Since then, the official website of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has undergone eleven updates, including in terms of appearance, content, and supporting technology. As the technology and resources of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) developed, each work unit began to create its own official website.
In line with the vision and mission of the Bandung Institute of Technology to become a World-Class University, the official ITB website is also a key component in the Webometrics university rankings. Work unit websites are also supporting components in the Webometrics rankings. Therefore, the active participation of all academicians is required to provide data and information related to the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi activities to the official websites of both the Bandung Institute of Technology and the Faculty/School websites.
