Urban Night ITB Team Presents Innovative Heart Recommendation App
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – As of 2015, World Health Organization (WHO) stated that 31% of all deaths in the world are caused by cardiovascular disease, which is around 17.2 million people. Departing from this concern, the Urban Night Team consisting of Royyan Abdullah Dzakiy (Informatics Engineering 2015), Farhan Ghifari (Informatics Engineering 2014), Jabal Logian (Electrical Engineering 2015), and Nugroho Satriyanto (IF 2014), brought an application entitled "Cardio-PP" which succeeded in becoming a top 20 finalist at the Telkom Hackathon 2018 event on Sunday (25/02/18) at Bandung Digital Valley.
According to 2016 data from the Ministry of Health, three out of four deaths from cardiovascular disease occur in low-income developing countries. 7.4 trillion rupiah was allocated for heart disease, out of a total of 14.6 trillion rupiah allocated for catastrophic illnesses. This concern sparked the idea of solutions to the problem.
With increasing digitalization, increasingly personalized healthcare, and the desire to streamline the activities of those with heart problems, the Urban Night Team finally came up with the idea of creating the Cardio-PP app, a personal health assistant that can provide information and recommendations related to heart health. No more trips to the doctor or hospital; users of this app can immediately find out their heart condition and receive health recommendations in real time.
There are three interrelated components so that the Cardio-PP can be used, namely artificial intelligence (AI), personal heart assistance. device with the ECG sensor. Not only that, the applications used include ECG Rate Monitor, Heart Condition, Assistance. Hospital GIS.
Device Equipped with the ECG sensor, the device will be placed at specific points on the body and will then monitor the user's heart health. The ECG signal, a signal that can be described as dense with information related to heart health, will be observed at these points. This single signal will be broken down into 80 parameters. These parameters can then be used to deduce the heart's condition after processing by the AI.
The data set will then be inputted until a model can be built. "AI will form an intelligent model to understand the ECG signal. From this conclusion, the heart condition can be detected, what disease is present, and finally recommendations will be generated. The condition and signal of ECG can be observed in handphone through the application," explained Royyan.
Compared to other heart-related apps, most simply monitor the user's heartbeat. While heart rate data can be obtained only minimally, the ECG signal can infer much more and detect more diseases. "In terms of accuracy, AI device "This reaches 80%," said Nugroho.
To develop this app, the Urban Night Team plans to enhance the AI's intelligence and become the best product on the market. Despite its superiority, the team is still looking for ways to keep the device affordable.
The team also hopes to develop heart data beyond ECG, which can eventually be managed and owned by Indonesia. Currently, the datasets used are sourced from abroad and therefore not necessarily accurate for domestic use. Furthermore, given the crucial device to know the conditions in ".", the team considered this a challenge. Basically, the tool that was designed was functional, it was just a matter of how to make it work. device The arrangement becomes more accurate, that is the main challenge.
In the future, it is not impossible for Urban Night to collaborate with the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) and doctors to provide direct assisting services from personal doctors.
By targeting people who are at high risk of heart attacks, such as those suffering from obesity and diabetes mellitus, Cardio-PP is expected to provide maximum benefits through... early warning system-so that those indicated as being in the danger zone or having heart defects can be monitored and ultimately saved. The Urban Night team hopes to continue being productive and is not even overlooking the possibility of contributing further to solving problems in the healthcare sector.
