Accreditation Celebration for Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Study Programs and Farewell Ceremony for Retired Lecturers

On Friday, February 10, 2017, a thanksgiving ceremony was held for two accredited STEI study programs. The Biomedical Engineering study program received an A from BAN-PT, while the Electrical Engineering study program was re-accredited by ABET after being first accredited in 2011. This thanksgiving ceremony also served as a gathering event for lecturers and the academic community.

ABET and BAN-PT accreditation guarantees prospective students and their parents that they are choosing a quality educational institution. It also guarantees employers that they are recruiting graduates who are prepared to meet the demands of industry adaptation and professionalism. Program accreditation status is one of the considerations used by various professional certification bodies to select prospective applicants. From the perspective of higher education institutions, the various criteria and program quality management structures required by ABET and BAN-PT also serve as guidelines for developing assessment, evaluation, and learning quality improvement mechanisms.

This event also served as a farewell ceremony for lecturers entering retirement. As a token of gratitude for their dedication to STEI, STEI presented awards and souvenirs to Ir. Mary Handoko Wijoyo, M.Sc., Ir. Hira Laksmiwati Soemitro, M.Sc., Dra. Christine Suryadi, MT., Dr. Ir. Djoko Darwanto, and Dr. Ir. Yusra Sabri Sirajuddin.
