STEI Receives a Visit from IURC Italy
On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics ITB received a visit from representatives of the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Program (IURC). The IURC team was welcomed by the Dean of STEI ITB, Dr. Tutun Juhana, S.T., M.T., Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs STEI ITB, Dr. techn. Saiful Akbar, S.T, M.T., Deputy Dean for Resources, STEI ITB, ., as well as lecturers from Knowledge & Software Engineering Research Groups, Dr. tech. Wikan Danar Sunindyo, S.T, M.Sc.
The visit was part of a series of comparative studies conducted by the IURC in Bandung, in collaboration with the City of Rome, Italy, specifically in the urban food and sustainable agriculture sectors. The collaborative program began in November 2021 and will run until 2023.
Sapienza University of Rome – CITERA, as a key partner of the City of Rome, has expressed interest in developing cooperation with the City of Bandung with the theme Renovation Wave, specifically Green Buildings/energy efficiency in buildings.
The collaborative activity was initiated with the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics ITB (STEI ITB) as part of the academic cluster, with the participation of Dr. tech. Wikan Danar Sunindyo, S.T, M.Sc. in the 3rd edition of the 2022 GIS-BIM Summer School (July 2022) with the topic "the Digital Twin integrated with innovative solutions in the management of the design process of Green Infrastructure".
The International Urban and Regional Cooperation programme (IURC) is a European Union (EU) programme that promotes decentralized multi-city cooperation in sustainable urban development, building partnerships between EU and non-EU cities on a global scale.
Through networking events, best practice sharing, comparative studies, knowledge exchanges, and direct contact with city officials, cities will be able to focus their collaborations. The IURC enables local governments to implement pilot projects involving research, civil society, and business partners.
