STEI Presents Three Medals at GEMASTIK 2021
The prestigious 14th National Student Exhibition in Technology, Information, and Communication (Gemastik) held by the Ministry of Education and Culture's National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) in 2021 has reached its climax. ITB secured second place in the eleven categories competed in.
STEI ITB successfully presented one gold medal and two bronze medals, with students from the Informatics Engineering study program winning in the following categories:

Meanwhile, the gold medal in animation was awarded to the BAM team from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD).
GEMASTIK is the largest student competition in information and communication technology (ICT) in Indonesia. This year, Gemastik has opened registration for 11 competitions:
- Programming
- Cyber Security
- Data Mining
- Desain Pengalaman Pengguna
- Animasi
- Kota Cerdas
- Scientific papers
- Pengembangan Perangkat Lunak
- Smart Devices, Embedded Systems & IoT
- Pengembangan Aplikasi Permainan
- Pengembangan Bisnis TIK
This event is a concrete manifestation of preparing and identifying Indonesia's golden talents who are able to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) appropriately to help human affairs so that they are more effective and efficient.
This year, Gemastik XIV carries the theme "ICT for Indonesia Rising Towards a Better Nation's Life." This activity is touted as a catalyst for improving the competence of Indonesian students, so that they are able to take on the role of agents of change in advancing ICT and its utilization for society and the nation.
"We want to instill the values of mental strength and emerging character, to prepare students to become a resilient generation and a generation that grows with innovation and creativity," Asep explained.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the GEMASTIK XIV Organizing Committee, Dida Diah Damajanti, stated that the event is gaining popularity among Indonesian students. This is evident in the large number of students, universities, and provinces participating.
The final round and peak event were held online from October 4-7, 2021.
"The participants who will take part in the final level are teams that have passed the preliminary round with a total of 230 teams coming from 67 state and private universities spread across LLDIKTI Regions I to XVI," said Dida.
