STEI Wins Again in the 2017 LSI Design Contest
Like the previous year, in 2017 STEI again sent its delegation to the LSI Design Contest held by Ryukyu Daigaku, Okinawa.
The LSI Design Contest is an annual competition held by Ryukyu Daigaku, a university in Okinawa City, Japan. The contest tests the participants' design skills. Integrated Circuit (IC)particularly in VLSI systems. Each year, this competition attracts hundreds of students and graduates from Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The competition begins with the collection of paper containing VLSI designs. Participants who passed the design submission stage were then invited to present their designs and implementations. The competition's judges included professors from leading Japanese universities and directors from companies such as Synopsys, Analog Devices, and Electronic Device Industry News.
In this competition, the team sent by STEI managed to win two titles.im Bima Sakti Ganesha berhasil meraih 1st runner-up (Analog Device Award) And Ganesha Barbarians team won 1st runner up (Electronic Device Industry News Award).
On 20th The theme of the 2017 LSI Design Contest is "Human Detection by Histogram of Oriented Gradients." Participants are expected to design hardware to detect the presence of humans in images or videos. The Bandung Institute of Technology is represented by the Bima Sakti Ganesha and Ganesha Barbarians teams, with the following members:

The Bima Sakti Ganesha team presented a design presentation entitled “Human Detection by Histogram of Oriented Gradients for Automatic Braking in Autonomous Cars” and the Ganesha Barbarians team presented a design presentation entitled “Efficient Human Detector Hardware Design with Paralleled and Pipelined Cell-Based HOG”.
