STEI ITB Receives Benchmarking Visit from the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) received a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. This activity is part of UMY's academic development program in order to improve the quality of laboratory management and development.
During the visit, the Faculty of Engineering of UMY conducted benchmarking at several laboratories within the STEI ITB environment, namely the Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory, the Electrical Energy Conversion Research Laboratory, and the Radio and Microwave Telecommunications Laboratory. This activity aimed to gain insight into laboratory facilities, layout and space utilization, best practices in practicum management, the implementation of occupational safety and health (K3) systems, the development of laboratory-based research, and laboratory governance that has developed at ITB.
The visit was attended by leaders from both institutions. From STEI ITB, the event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of STEI ITB, Dr. techn. M. Zuhri Catur Candra, ST, MT, and the Vice Dean for Resources of STEI ITB, Dr. Eng. Ir. Arwindra Rizqiawan, ST, MT.
Meanwhile, the UMY Faculty of Engineering delegation was led by the Vice Rector for Resources of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, Prof. Diah Mutiarin, M.Si, and the Dean of the UMY Faculty of Engineering, Ir. Aris Widyo Nugroho, MT, Ph.D., and was attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta.
This benchmarking activity is expected to foster the exchange of knowledge and experience between institutions, particularly in the management of educational and research laboratories. It also serves as a first step toward strengthening future academic and institutional collaboration between STEI ITB and the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta.
