STEI ITB and Garuda Spark Innovation Hub Explore Collaboration to Strengthen Indonesia's Digital Talent Ecosystem

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology received a visit from representatives of the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub (GSIH) from the Directorate of Digital Ecosystem Development, Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), in a discussion held at the Faculty Lounge of STEI ITB, Ganesa Campus, Bandung, Thursday (18/6). This meeting was the first step to explore collaboration opportunities in developing talent, innovation and the digital ecosystem in Indonesia.

The discussion was a follow-up to the GSIH initiative introduced by Komdigi as a platform for orchestrating the national startup, talent, and digital innovation ecosystem. Through the developed collaboration model, GSIH seeks to strengthen connectivity between universities, communities, industry, investors, and the government to encourage the growth of a sustainable digital ecosystem.

From STEI ITB, the meeting was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. techn. Muhammad Zuhri Catur Candra, S.T., M.T., as well as study program leaders and lecturers at STEI ITB. The presence of these academics reflects STEI ITB's commitment to supporting the development of the national innovation ecosystem and digital transformation.

During the meeting, both parties discussed various synergy opportunities for future development, including strengthening collaboration between academia and the digital innovation ecosystem. This initiative is expected to open up broader collaboration opportunities to support the development of technology-based startups, enhance digital human resource capacity, and accelerate innovation that impacts society and industry.

STEI ITB welcomed the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub initiative and expressed its willingness to engage in further discussions to deepen the work program and explore various potential collaborations. This meeting is expected to lay the foundation for building stronger synergies between universities and the government in strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia's digital ecosystem, particularly in West Java.
