STEI ITB Participates in the Bavarian Semiconductor Congress 2024 and Visits Universities in Germany

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has participated in the activities Bavarian Semiconductor Congress (BSC) 2024 in Germany. This participation also included visits to several leading universities and semiconductor research centers in Germany. The STEI ITB delegation was led by Dr. techn. Saiful Akbar, S.T, M.T., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, together with Egi Muhammad Idris Hidayat, S.T, M.Sc., Ph.D. Head of the Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, and Nur Ahmadi, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., Lecturer in the Electronics Expertise Group. Their presence was at the invitation of the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Berlin.

The five-day event, from June 3 to 6, 2024, aimed to discuss steps to develop a semiconductor ecosystem in Indonesia. The delegation also discussed follow-up to the exploration of semiconductor research and education collaboration with Germany.

While in Germany, the STEI ITB delegation visited several universities and research institutions, including:

• Universitas StuttgartOne of the leading universities in Germany known for its research and development in the field of semiconductor technology.
• Universitas Ulm: Renowned for its innovations in electronics and semiconductors, this university is one of the important destinations in the series of visits.
• Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden): Known as a center of excellence in semiconductor technology research and teaching.
• Ferdinand-Braun-Institut GmbH: A renowned research institution focused on semiconductor and photonic technologies.

Through participation in BSC 2024 and this visit, STEI ITB hopes to strengthen international relations and collaboration with universities and research centers in Germany. This is expected to encourage the advancement of semiconductor technology research and development in Indonesia and improve the quality of education in the field of electrical engineering and informatics, particularly in semiconductor technology and design. chip .
