STEI Innovation Day: An Appreciation Event for Students

The diverse achievements of STEI ITB students were facilitated by the STEI Innovation Day committee as a form of appreciation. The event, held on Thursday (11/28/13) at the ITB West Hall, was attended by various groups, ranging from STEI academics, ITB students from other study programs, and high school students also participated in enlivening this activity. The total number of visitors who attended the STEI Innovation Day 2013 event was 700 visitors.

This event was opened by the Chancellor of ITB, Prof. Akhmaloka, he expressed his appreciation to the outstanding students from STEI ITB for their contribution in advancing and making ITB's name famous on the national and international stage.

A variety of award-winning works were also displayed, including the small robot that won the 2013 Micro Robot Maze Contest. in Japan, then a robot that can play football with achievements in the Federation of International Robot - Soccer Association (FIRA) competition in Malaysia, and various other works. This creative spirit is what we want to transmit in this event. Like the creation of the FIRA ITB team which last August won one gold medal, one silver medal, and one bronze medal. This robot that works like a soccer team is quite the attention of the participants who attended the STEI Innovation Day 2013. In addition, the committee also displayed posters made by lecturers and students.

This year's event is a continuation of the routine agenda held by STEI ITB since 2011. However, in 2013, the organizing committee was handed over to students from all STEI ITB study programs, no longer from the dean's office as in previous years.

Chairman of the STEI Innovation Day 2013 committee, Destra Bintang Perkasa (Informatics Engineering 2011said that with this activity, it is hoped that it can inspire other students, especially STEI ITB students who are in the TPB stage. So that this event can be used as a basis for motivation in choosing a study program. For high school students who also attended, it is hoped that it can boost their motivation to study at ITB. In this event, awards were also presented from STEI ITB to students who succeeded in winning various competitions. Then finally the STEI Innovation Day 2013 event was closed by Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring. M.Eng as Vice Dean for Resources representing the Leadership of STEI ITB.
