SKACI Kreatif 2013

On Friday, March 15, 2013, a Press Release was held for the preparation of the 2013 Creative SKACI. The event was held in collaboration with the Information Technology Research Group of STEI ITB, SKACI, TELKOM, and SAUNG ANGKLUNG UDJO.
SKACI is a distinguished information and communication technology (ICT) educational institution. Its uniqueness lies in its teaching methods, implementation methods, and tangible results in the form of student achievements.
The SKACI teaching method is based on the principle entertainducationstudents must feel happy while learning. Currently, SKACI focuses on teaching programming and creating animations, applications, and educational games for elementary and middle school children (teaching materials for high school students are still under development). SKACI uses game media for learning. We all know, almost all children love playing games. While learning, they are asked to play “games”, which in fact is actually creating new games. SKACI won the Telkom Indigo Venture 2012 for this unique learning innovation.
The SKACI implementation method adopts the principles of social entrepreneurship, which also serves as an alternative solution to unemployment. SKACI targets young high school (SMA/SMK) graduates, the majority of whom become unemployed each year. Online at www.skaci.comThey independently study the teaching modules and take competency exams. Those who pass will be eligible to teach private lessons to elementary and middle school students and tutor ICT extracurricular activities at nearby schools. SKACI has established procedures to maintain the quality of this teaching and learning process.
SKACI provides tangible evidence. SKACI students have dominated the finalists and winners of the national ICT competition in the elementary school category since 2010. SKACI students' achievement records since its establishment in 2010 include: more than 30 awards received, more than 10 TV stations broadcast, more than 20 media covered, more than 5 ministers/state officials invited, including President SBY and former president Habibie. It is still rare for a non-formal educational institution like SKACI to have such a brilliant record of student achievement!

ORGANIZATION
SKACI KREATiF 2013 was held in collaboration with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, KK Information Technology STEI ITB, SKACI Bandung Pusat, and Saung Angklung Udjo, and supported by sponsors and media partners.
PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTATION
SKACI KREATiF 2013 is one of the efforts to reduce the negative impacts of the rapid penetration of ICT on children and teenagers. We synergize with the government in an effort to provide a "good path" for children and teenagers in navigating the information age. Without education in a positive, creative, and innovative direction, they are very vulnerable to being swept away by the current and becoming consumers and victims of the negative impacts of ICT, as has often happened today. In addition, for those who have succeeded in "finding a good path" and have produced works, we give appreciation and recognition. Overall, we strive to catch up with children and teenagers from other countries, who have currently produced more than three million works, which are exchanged in the global online sharing community. We prepare the next generation to not be too far behind, but even more advanced than other nations, in the field of ICT. We want to create a generation of young creators, not just users, plagiarists, or even victims of the rapid advancement of ICT.
