Siemens paves the way for green infrastructure growth for Indonesia
Smart Infra-Connex, Siemens' flagship event held on Tuesday (13/12/2022), brought together more than 200 key stakeholders from regulators and public and private companies.
Dr. Tutun Juhana, ST., MT. also attended the Smart Infra-Connex event representing the ITB Chancellor Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D who were unable to attend, in order to fulfill the invitation to sign the MoU which will be the starting point for cooperation between ITB and Siemens.
Leading speakers and presenters from the Indonesian government and state-owned enterprises, international financing and export credit institutions, and Siemens technology experts are on hand to discuss green growth infrastructure for Indonesia and how smart technologies can pave the way for growth to achieve net-zero targets. The Siemens Industry Hub showcases smart technology solutions to transform six key industries: Power, Urban Development, Transportation, Data Centers, Pulp and Paper, and Metals and Mining.
"Technology is a lever, and digitalization is the key to enabling the transition to smart infrastructure. Smart infrastructure is efficient and sustainable infrastructure," said Dr. Lamine Jendoubi, President Director and CEO of PT Siemens Indonesia.
Siemens technology enables customers in their transition to more efficient, resilient, and intelligent solutions, ultimately helping them transform the daily lives of 270 million people in Indonesia. Smart and green technologies enable critical infrastructure to create sustainable and more equitable growth.
To accelerate digital transformation and value creation for customers of all sizes in industry, buildings, power grids, and transportation, Siemens launched a new digital business platform called Siemens Xcelerator in June 2022. Its curated portfolio of software, IoT-enabled hardware, and digital services can be operated flexibly, openly, and as-a-service. The platform includes a growing marketplace to facilitate interactions and transactions between customers, partners, and developers.
Indonesia is now preparing to implement strategic projects involving the development of new energy and smart technologies to achieve its Net Zero Emissions (NZE) target by 2060 or earlier. As we move forward to promote green development and a smart future, we would like to invite Siemens, one of the leading technology companies, to participate in this sector.
Rahmat Kaimuddin, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Transportation, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia
Siemens is committed to further increasing its footprint in Indonesia as a technology partner by building local production capacity and human resources, and strengthening collaboration with local partners.
Education has always been at the heart of Siemens. Improving technical skills and quality is a prerequisite for implementing sustainable infrastructure. Today, Siemens will launch a collaborative initiative with the engineering faculties of the University of Indonesia and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to bridge the gap in the readiness of Indonesia's future engineers.
