Safety Induction and Firefighting Simulation: STEI ITB Students Ready to Face Safety Challenges

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has successfully conducted a Safety Induction aimed at increasing safety awareness among new STEI ITB students. The event, held in Classroom 9021 of the Oktagon Building, combined theory and practice to ensure students were prepared for emergency situations.

The Safety Induction program covered a variety of important safety topics, such as evacuation procedures, firefighting, and first aid. Students were also provided with an understanding of campus safety regulations.

This Safety Induction activity is an integral part of STEI ITB's efforts to ensure that STEI ITB students have a strong understanding of safety and can act quickly and appropriately in emergency situations. STEI ITB's K3G Coordinator, Habibur Muhaimin, S.T, M.Sc., plays an important role in delivering material and instructions to students during this activity.

After gaining basic safety knowledge, students were then involved in a serious firefighting simulation. The simulation took place in the front yard of the Radar Building and involved the ITB Occupational Health and Safety (K3L) team.

This firefighting simulation was conducted to provide students with practical experience in dealing with fire situations. Students were taught how to use fire extinguishers, proper evacuation procedures, and how to communicate in emergency situations. During the simulation, the students collaborated with the ITB K3L team to extinguish the fire and evacuate potential victims.

It is hoped that with activities like this, STEI ITB students will become individuals who are more prepared and concerned about safety, not only in the campus environment but also in their daily lives.
