ABET Team Meeting with Advisory Board

Friday, January 21, 2011, at the STEI ITB Meeting Room, Achmad Bakrie Building, 2nd Floor, a meeting was held between the ABET TEAM of the Electrical Engineering Study Program of STEI ITB and the Advisory Board of STEI ITB. At the meeting, the ABET TEAM of the Electrical Engineering Study Program of STEI ITB discussed the progress of the preparation of the ABET TEAM of the Electrical Engineering Study Program of STEI ITB in order to receive the visit of ABET Assessors from America. The plan is that the ABET assessors will come to ITB on January 31, 2011 – February 2, 2011.

Several STEI advisors who attended this meeting were Mr. Herman Darnel from the National Energy Council, Mr. Ary Mochtar Pedju from PT. Inconna, Mr. Yana Suryana Raharja from PT. Quasar.

ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) is a nonprofit organization that accredits college and university educational programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. Among the most respected accrediting organizations, ABET has provided leadership and quality assurance in higher education for over 75 years. Accreditation is intended to ensure the quality of these programs, primarily in the United States but also internationally.

It should be noted that in addition to the Electrical Engineering Study Program at STEI ITB, the Ocean Engineering Study Program, which is from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at ITB, will be accredited by the ABET assessors.
