Inauguration of the CreatView Smart Classroom STEI ITB – The First in Indonesia

Bandung 10/03/2022 - The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has inaugurated a lecture class called CreateView Smart Classroom located in Labtek VIII, 4th Floor, School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI). The lecture class is a collaborative program between STEI ITB and a university from Shanghai, China, namely Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), the International Center for Higher Education Innovation under UNESCO, and sponsored by Guangzhou CreateView Education Technology.

UNESCO representative, Mr. Hassan A. Shehzad, claimed that ITB is the only campus with a smart classroom in Indonesia. "ITB is the first and only smart classroom in Indonesia," he said, as quoted from the ITB website on Thursday (October 5, 2022).

Meanwhile, the Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs at STEI ITB, Dr. Techn. Saiful Akbar, ST, MT., added that the program has been underway for four years, but has only just now been realized. He hopes this facility will support academic activities at ITB.

ITB Chancellor, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., said that the CreateView Smart Classroom facility will be utilized to support education 4.0 which is leading to digital transformation.

In terms of facilities, the CreateView Smart Classroom has 50 internet-connected computers. There's also a large screen at the front of the classroom connected to a camera, and two other large screens on each side of the room. Here are some of the features of the CreateView Smart Classroom:

1. Smart Presentation Recording
2. Smart Monitoring/Controlling for examination.
3. Smart Content assignment.
4. Smart lecture recording
5. Smart Camera powered by AI (Motion Detection) Good connected with Zoom.
6. smart interpreting: if connected with zoom and earphone.
