Faculty Introduction for Parents of Students

Earlier this week, the Open Session for the Inauguration of New Student Admissions (PPMB) officially opened the 2017/2018 Academic Year. With classes soon to resume, the start of the academic year also marks the beginning of studies for new students across ITB, including STEI.

In addition to student orientation activities, on Wednesday (09/08/2017) a faculty introduction event was also held for parents. From STEI, Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring M.Eng, as Dean, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Ir. Dwi H. Widyantoro, M.Sc., PhD., Vice Dean for Resources, Dr. Ir. Nana Rachmana Syambas, M.Eng, and STEI lecturers were present. At the event, presentations and introductions were given about STEI and its study programs. Parents were also able to ask questions and discuss the study programs and education system at STEI.

The ITB academic system allows students to carefully consider their chosen study program. To enter a program, students must first complete the Joint Preparation Phase (TPB) program, where they learn the fundamentals that will guide them in their future study programs.

To determine which study program to pursue, students must truly understand their own abilities and the subjects they will learn. This is important not only for students but also for parents, as they are the primary mentors and guides for their children throughout their studies. This activity is expected to provide parents with a better understanding of what students learn in their studies and assist them in choosing their future study programs.
