Mobile Broadband & Telecommunications Industry

On Thursday, February 10, 2011, a Selected Chapter Lecture on Telecommunications was held. The lecture, which took place in the multimedia room of STEI ITB, had the theme "Mobile Broadband & Telecommunications Industry" and was delivered by Mr. Rahmat Halomoan Rambe, General Manager of IM2.

He explained that the college environment is very different from the workplace. Therefore, we are strongly encouraged to prepare ourselves with strong soft skills from an early age, for example through extracurricular activities around campus. Similarly, students are required to anticipate job market trends to increase their competitiveness in the future workforce.

In Indonesia, particularly in the telecommunications industry, the best job opportunities are in data communications. This sector has experienced 38% growth compared to voice, which only grew 5%. However, it must be acknowledged that industry growth requires support from a large customer base. Therefore, customer satisfaction must be considered by considering aspects such as price, quality, speed, availability, simplicity, and mobility.
