ITB Electrical Engineering Students Gain Industry Experience through Hitachi Energy 2026 Internship Program
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id — Electrical Engineering students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Institut Teknologi Bandung (STEI ITB) participated in the three-month Hitachi Energy 2026 Internship Program, held as part of the ongoing collaboration between Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Hitachi Energy under their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Throughout the program, the students gained hands-on exposure to several Hitachi Energy business areas, including Grid Automation, Grid Integration, and High Voltage Products. They worked closely with mentors and co-mentors who supported their learning process and involvement in projects and challenges reflecting real-world practices in the energy industry.
The internship is aligned with the broader collaboration between ITB and Hitachi Energy established through their MoU in 2024. The partnership covers internship opportunities, stronger links between academia and industry, and collaborative activities related to power systems, distribution, automation, and technology development.
During the final presentation session, the students shared their learning journeys, key achievements, and insights gained throughout the internship. The session also provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the technical knowledge and professional experience they had developed over the three-month program.
Through this experience, the students are expected to broaden their understanding of the energy sector and the application of electrical engineering knowledge in an industrial environment. The collaboration between STEI ITB and Hitachi Energy is also expected to continue creating opportunities for developing Indonesia’s future talent while supporting the human-capital needs of an increasingly sustainable and electrified energy sector.
