SEEI ITB Students Win 2nd Place at the Huawei Developer Competition APAC 2025

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – Students of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) ITB once again achieved outstanding recognition at the international level. At the Huawei Developer Competition (HDC) APAC 2025 held on 18–21 November 2025, a student team from SEEI ITB secured 2nd Place by presenting an innovative solution aimed at supporting the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia. ... .

The team consisted of five SEEI ITB students:

  1. Timotius Vivaldi Gunawan (Information Systems and Technology)
  2. Muhammad Kevinza Faiz (Information Systems and Technology)
  3. Muhammad Neo Cicero Koda (Informatics Engineering)
  4. Taufiq Ramadhan Ahmad (Information Systems and Technology)
  5. Viktor Arsindiantoro Siringoringo (Information Systems and Technology)

In an interview, the team representative explained that their main motivation for joining the competition stemmed from a strong interest in Cloud Computing and Huawei’s technology ecosystem. Their prior experience in multiple hackathon competitions—where they had not yet succeeded—further strengthened their determination to improve and refine the solution they had developed. . .

In this competition, the team proposed Treasuree, an application designed to help MSMEs generate financial reports asynchronously and automatically using Large Language Model (LLM) technology. Treasuree is also equipped with a chatbot powered by Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) serving as a Financial Intelligence system, and provides funding integration through trusted online lending platforms. . . . . . . ..

The solution had actually been developed during a previous hackathon, where it did not secure a win. Rather than giving up, the team used the experience as a catalyst to enhance Treasuree and present a more polished version at the HDC APAC 2025.

The idea was chosen based on real challenges faced by many MSMEs in Indonesia—particularly the difficulty of accessing formal financing due to the lack of standardized financial reports. Through Treasuree, the team aims to simplify financial reporting for MSMEs while enabling funding institutions to more easily verify prospective recipients.

Throughout the competition, strong collaboration among team members became a key factor for success. With diverse strengths in their respective areas, they consistently engaged in brainstorming sessions, performance evaluations, and strategic planning to convince the judges. These efforts maintained team motivation and cohesion, ultimately leading them to secure 2nd Place. ..

The team recognized the potential of Treasuree from the outset. They understood that the obstacles faced by MSMEs are real and have yet to be effectively addressed by many existing technology solutions. This opportunity reinforced their belief that Treasuree not only has the capacity to compete internationally but also the potential to deliver meaningful impact.

The final pitch session took place at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, while the Awarding Ceremony was held during the Huawei Cloud Summit Hong Kong 2025 at Cyberport Mall.

This achievement underscores the capability of SEEI ITB students in developing advanced technology solutions to address real-world challenges, while also demonstrating their readiness to compete on the global stage.
