TECHNOLOGY-BASED ENTREPRENEURSHIP COURSES at STEI ITB
Bandung, itb.ac.id - If electrical engineering students are generally thought to be limited to product creation without understanding how to commercialize them, that assumption is wrong. In the ITB Electrical Engineering study program, there is a course called “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Engineering” with code EL4244, this lecture combines innovation and entrepreneurship In the future, students will be guided to develop technology-based innovation ideas based on real needs in society, thus creating superior products. STEI ITB, especially the Electrical Engineering Study Program, recognizes the importance of these two things and has developed courses to develop students in the field of entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship). This lecture is also collaborative and attended by participants from other study programs.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Engineering lecture is integrated with the final project (thesis) lecture in Electrical Engineering ITB which is in the form of .. This lecture produces business ideas that are problems real that really needs to be solved. Next, in ., students are taught to work in teams, taught to be able to complete engineering problem working with teammates and collaborating with colleagues who may focus on different areas of work. Effective and sound communication is a key prerequisite for completing this final assignment. . It has been implemented for 11 years in the ITB Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program and has become an example for many Engineering study programs.
Framework used in the EL4244 course is based on 24 steps inscipline entrepreneur which was developed by Professor Bill Aulet of MIT and has produced many startup innovation and technology-based. This course is taught by Arif Sasongko, Toronata Tambun, and Salman Subakat (CEO of Paragon Teknologi). This course is supported by industry in the form of funding and coaching clinicEach group gets a mentor who provides input to sharpen their ideas.

The lecture closed with . attended by industry and venture capital. There were ten groups, all of whom presented technology-based business ideas. The pitching was attended by industry and venture capitalAt EEDays 2022, on June 14, 2022, it was announced that five of the ten business ideas submitted would be funded. During the Electrical Engineering final project and thesis defense, Paragon CEO Salman Subakat announced that these business ideas would be pursued through internships, final projects, and other courses using the MBKM (Community-Based Business Learning) scheme.
This course and the scheme it has established will continue to be developed. Hopefully, it will produce many entrepreneurs, and next year, more people will be able to participate, including students from various study programs.
