Selected Chapter Lecture “Telecommunication Growth Mobile Broadband”
The Telecommunication Engineering Study Program STEI ITB, on Thursday, April 21, 2011, held a Telecommunications Selected Chapter lecture at the STEI ITB Meeting Room, 2nd floor of Achmad Bakrie Building with the theme "Telecommunication Growth Mobile Broadband".
The lecture, attended by students of the Electrical Engineering Study Program, was delivered by Ronni Nurmal, Account Technology Manager, PT. Ericsson Indonesia.
He explained that global telecommunications trends are entering an increasingly rapid phase, driven by, among other things, internet growth, cloud computing, and telecommunications networks themselves.
In 2010, 3G traffic surpassed that of GSM, and mobile data traffic growth far exceeded that of traditional voice traffic. This indicates that the need for mobile data with high access speeds and bandwidth is increasingly becoming a necessity for subscribers and end-users.
Another factor in the growth of mobile broadband data in Indonesia is the still low penetration of fixed broadband access, making mobile broadband a very attractive substitute option.
With mobile broadband or mobile wireless increasingly developing, it has become a huge opportunity for both vendors and operators, even for academics.
