Kapita Selekta “Technopreneurship by Example”

On Thursday, March 24, 2011, a Selected Chapter Lecture on Telecommunications was held. The lecture, which took place in the multimedia room STEI ITB, had the theme “Technopreneurship by Example” and was delivered by Mr. Riko Rangkuti, President Director PT. Raztel Solusindo Telematika.

Raztel Solusindo Telematika is a telecommunications and informatics company. Its scope of work includes importing, distributing, and developing hardware and software.

He explained that everyone in the world has talents, interests, and hobbies that can provide many benefits if utilized optimally. After graduating from college, we have several options: work, starting our own business, or continuing our education.

Apart from that, he also explained the comparison between someone working or starting their own business.
Working for a job carries minimal risks compared to starting your own business, which carries enormous risks. Also, compare business rules: if you're working for a job, your business rules are already in place, but starting a business requires starting from scratch. So, starting your own business involves many factors.

An entrepreneur is someone who manages and calculates the opportunities and risks of a new or different motivation. They must be able to combine logic (left brain) and creativity (right brain). Entrepreneurship is the effort made to start or run a business. Technopreneurship is the effort made to start or run a business by utilizing technology as its innovation, generally creating something that doesn't yet exist with a far-sighted vision.
