ITB Wins National Business Competition

yot-businessITB students have once again achieved success in a national business competition. The competition, organized by Young On Top (YoT) in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the Hoshizora Foundation, is titled“Empowering Youth Market Through Global Market Industries“. The ITB team represented by Fajar Bahari (Electrical Engineering 2012), Muhammad Nur Pratama (Electrical Engineering 2012), and Arfie Nugraha (Electrical Engineering 2012) successfully won 2nd place. The final event was held at the Smartfren Auditorium Jakarta, Friday-Saturday (20-21/05/16). In this competition, the participants had to provide a solution to a real case that occurred in a social enterprise.

In the preliminary round, 81 teams registered to participate in this competition. However, only the top five teams made it to the final round, one of which was the ITB team named "Goa." Every team that wants to participate in this competition...
Participants are required to submit solutions to business problems presented by the committee. After advancing to the final stage, participants then visit the PwC Learning Center to discuss with company stakeholders. Strong analytical skills are required to find appropriate solutions to these problems. The competition's judges are also experts in their respective fields. social enterprise and finance.

"For very limited preparation and minimal experience, we are quite satisfied," said Fajar when interviewed. This proves that ITB students who only have an engineering background can also compete in business competitions. ITB successfully beat its competitors from other universities in Indonesia. The universities that participated in the competition included the University of Indonesia, the University of North Sumatra, and Diponegoro University. In the final presentation, each team was asked to present recommendations for the right business model for the social enterprise. These recommendations are expected to provide perspective and change for business in social enterprises based on aspects suistainability, local empowerment with sociological, psychological, political and economic considerations, and based on aspects division of net profit.  ITB's victory in this competition also adds to the long list of achievements achieved by ITB students.
