According to him, the country boasts a vast talent pool, particularly among the millennial generation. The presence of this lab will certainly address the challenges of Industry 4.0. "The aspiration of Industry 4.0 itself is to make Indonesia the largest economy by 2030, with a 10 percent increase in manufactured exports, increased productivity, and built innovation capabilities, with the expected budget being two percent," he said.
This is the first digital economy development lab established at ITB under a program initiated by Indosat Ooredo. Its goal is to support the Indonesian government in developing human resources, particularly the younger generation, to face the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It also serves as a platform for stakeholders to develop appropriate IoT-based use cases that can boost the nation's economy.
Indosat Director and Chief Innovation Officer Arif Musta'in said the lab is expected to generate innovative ideas, product design references, and solutions to address IoT challenges that can be developed on an industrial scale for various needs, including product development, services, manufacturing, marketing, and more. "Furthermore, talent development programs and digital-based future economy incubation programs can also be developed in this lab," he hoped.
