As an educator, Dr. Ir. Ian Edward has developed a theoretical mathematical learning model with real-world physical models in the field of telecommunications engineering. This allows students to understand the use of learning materials in the workplace.
Dr. Ir. Ian Edward's research in the field of telecommunications has been used by institutions and industries in several countries.
In his community service, Dr. Ir. Ian Edward developed algorithms and tools to measure the quality of services in Indonesia's underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions. He also participated in the creation of anthropometric standards and tools to address stunting in Indonesia.
