Dr. Phil. Eng. Hari Purnama is an academic and researcher at the Software Engineering and Knowledge Research Group (KK RPLP), School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). With his educational background and experience in research and community service, Dr. Hari has made significant contributions in information security, programming, and software engineering.

Dr. Hari earned his bachelor's degree from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), before pursuing his master's degree in Computational Science at ITB, and completed his doctoral degree at Kanazawa University, Japan. His research focuses on the development of secure IoT systems, including the implementation of Distributed Ledger Technology in IoT systems. Dr. Hari's research has been published in reputable international journals and proceedings. As a member of the teaching staff at STEI ITB, Dr. Hari also contributes to the renewal of the Informatics Engineering curriculum and is part of the LAM Infokom Accreditation Team. He is also a member of the STEI ITB Communication and Information Team.
Dr. Hari has participated in various research and technology development projects that contribute to the fields of information security, blockchain, big data, and IoT. Some of these include Blockchain in Securing Intelligent Communication and Vulnerability & Threat Identification and Exploit Kit in Network Centric Environment, which were developed to improve cybersecurity in strategic environments. He was also involved in the Forecasting Technology for Big Data Infrastructure project and the development of a vote counting system for the 2019 Election managed by the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU RI).
In academic and industrial fields, Dr. Hari participated in the development of Machine Learning Ops Environment for EFTAX Company, Co. Ltd (Japan) as well as the development of IoT-based applications in the IoT Engineering project as a part-time job at the same company. In 2024, he was active in various strategic initiatives, including the development of AI-Based Web Applications for Cross-Listed Course Verification at ITB, ITB's World Class University (WCU) Reporting System, and the Military Truck Simulator Prototype project developed in collaboration with SDIRBINLITBANG PUSBEKANGAD. In addition, he also played a role in the planning and replacement of Air Traffic Control (ATC) System facilities in the eastern region of Indonesian airspace.
With his extensive academic background and experience, Dr. Hari continues to develop innovations in information security, IoT, and software engineering. His contributions to research, curriculum development, and various strategic projects reflect his commitment to strengthening ITB's role as a center of excellence in education and research at the national and international levels.
