From Labtek VIII STEI ITB: Exploring Bioelectronics and Digital Twins for the Future of Healthcare

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id — Located in Labtek VIII, 2nd and 3rd Floor, STEI ITB held the activity "Seminar & Collaboration Meeting” This event brings together students, lecturers, and researchers in a single discussion space on developments in bioelectronics-based health technology and intelligent data. This event serves as a forum for exploring ideas and strengthening international research collaboration networks.

The main topics raised focus on bioelectronic systems closed-loop, an approach that integrates continuous physiological sensing, data modeling, and adaptive therapeutic actuation. This approach opens the door to healthcare systems that can dynamically respond to individual conditions, supported by biosensors, personal computing, and real-time control.

In addition, the concept digital twins was also highlighted in this activity. Through virtual representations of an individual's physiological systems, this technology enables more precise and personalized simulations, predictions, and decision-making. Its use is considered relevant in the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disorders, which require continuous monitoring and a data-driven approach.

This activity also marked the first step in opening up opportunities for collaboration between STEI ITB, specifically the Biomedical Engineering Expertise Group (KKBME) and PPTIK, and New York University Abu Dhabi. The discussions highlighted the potential for multidisciplinary collaborations combining electrical engineering, informatics, and health sciences.

Attended by approximately 50 participants, the event was interactive and featured a dynamic exchange of ideas. The forum not only provided insights into the latest technological developments but also encouraged new perspectives on developing technology-based healthcare solutions.

Through this activity, STEI ITB continues to strengthen its role as a center for the development of science and technology that is adaptive to future challenges, especially in encouraging innovation in the health sector based on engineering and data.
