Tokyo – Three students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Bandung Institute of Technology, namely Bagus Hanindito (13211007), Wisnu Wijayanto (13211002) and Cindy Agustina (13211033) who succeeded in creating an application for utilizing blood vessels that attracted the attention of Fujitsu. In addition to being brought to Japan, their work will also be assisted to the commercial stage after appearing as champions of the Fujitsu Innovation Challenge 2013. The application developed by Bagus Hanindito, Wisnu Wijayanto and Cindy Agustina is indeed unique. The system they created can be used for an attendance system as well as checking the health conditions of its users. The system that has begun to be developed is claimed to be better than the device finger print In some cases, for example, hygiene. Because users don't need to touch the device, the sterility of the device is better maintained. Furthermore, the system is claimed to be untethered from security. The application, written in the C++ programming language, was developed on the Fujitsu Palmsecure platform, which is what made the Japanese manufacturer so popular.

"We will take this application to the development department for further development. We will also teach the students how to monetize it," said Nuraini Kurnia, Country Head of Marketing for Fujitsu Indonesia, at the Tokyo International Forum, May 15-16, 2013, which was attended by detikINET.

The application is still being developed. The three fourth-semester students were even asked to present their work to Fujitsu software architects. If successful, it's possible the application could generate income for these three Indonesian students.

PalmSecure

Fujitsu's PalmSecure technology uses palm vein authentication, and is expected to create stronger human-centric applications compared to systems that only use machine authentication.

PalmSecure's vein authentication technology uses vascular patterns to identify personal data. Vein recognition is secure because the authentication data is contained within the body, making it virtually impossible to forge.

This unique character has made palm vein recognition popular, used especially for security purposes, and commonly used for time attendance systems.

PalmSecure offers an easy-to-use and hygienic solution for identity verification. The palm vein scanner is contactless and can be used on dirty or injured hands.

In Europe, palm vein authentication technology has been widely used in various industries, including finance, healthcare, building security, and public service facilities. It is hoped that this technology will soon be adopted in Indonesia.
