Guest Lecture by Bank Mandiri's President Director: Professionalism in Banking

Friday, March 20, 2015. The usually scorching Friday afternoon was a stark contrast. The sky was overcast, with even occasional drizzles. At least, I was a little afraid of getting caught in the rain on my way to the East CC Auditorium to attend a guest lecture in the Socio-Informatics course.

Prejudis

Honestly, I assumed the guest lecture would explain the relevance of the theories I learned in class to the real world, the workplace. However, I was wrong; I learned more than I bargained for. It was a new learning experience for someone who's still lacking in knowledge.

Responsibility

Mr. Budi Gunawan shared many things about his experiences, including why he chose to attend ITB, saying it was because he felt a strong connection with it, as it was the place where he met his future wife. He also discussed his experiences in the banking world. However, one thing he believes applies to all professions is his message: every profession has a moral responsibilityWhen he said that banking has a moral responsibility to improve the economy of the existing community, as do other professions. We, as candidates, software-engineer We also have a moral responsibility for what we do and create. That's an important message that I believe everyone should understand, comprehend, and apply. 

Knowledge Transfer

There are several things I find appealing about Bank Mandiri, including its attention to its members, including the opportunity to study abroad through scholarship programs. The clear career path is also an appealing factor. However, what's even more intriguing is how to choose a career path. top level management / strategic level who must have competence there and really understand what needs to be done.

As he previously mentioned, there are always opportunities for several people to accompany him in certain positions and for specific periods.
