Form of HMIF community service

Community Service is one of the Tri Dharma of ITB, therefore STEI students (IF and STI) realize this in a more tangible form, such as the following story.

Community Service Camp! – Inspiration in a smile
Community Service Camp is one of the HMIF programs that provides a form of community service. The form of this community service camp event is students staying overnight for 3 days and 2 nights (September 16-18, 2011) in a resident's house to experience social life in Tarumajaya village, Kertasari sub-district. This village was chosen because of its potential that has not been fully utilized, its potential includes: a source of large milk production, agriculture, and the historic lake Situ Cisanti which holds stories and history. On that basis, the events held in Tarumajaya Village are related to the improvement of basic facilities at Situ Cisanti, eating together with villagers, and some of these events are expected to be the initiation and inspiration for village development movements in Indonesia. It also provides experience to students, so that in the future life they will appreciate others more, and have a sense of always giving because of the instilled soul of love.

BINER (Informatics Service for the Nation) – Sharing is Caring
BINER is an informatics-based community service program where Informatics Engineering, Information Systems, and Technology students teach informatics to students at SMPN 22 and SMP Pertiwi Bandung. Each week, students teach students about healthy internet, Flash, and an introduction to information technology. It is hoped that the students who receive this instruction will be able to utilize information technology for good purposes and share their knowledge with others. This program is held continuously in every class. It is possible that in the coming years, many more schools will be able to benefit from BINER's existence.
