STEI ITB Team Sweeps Every Award in the 2020 Huawei ICT Competition at the Asia Pacific level

The STEI-ITB team won first place and at the same time swept all awards in two categories of  the Huawei ICT Competition 2020-Asia Pacific Regional, namely the network and cloud categories. This competition was held in March 2020 in the Philippines and then postponed to September in Thailand. However, it was finally held online on October 18, 2020 yesterday.

The first team who won first place in the network category consisted of 3 students and 1 instructor, namely: Afif Tri Farhan (Telecommunication Engineering), Joshua Christo Randiny (Informatics Engineering), Putu Priyana Pradipta (Telecommunication Engineering), and Rifqy Hakimi, ST, MT (lecturer) STEI ITB). This achievement improves on previous achievements in the same event which was ranked third in 2019. The second place was won by the University of Malaya (Malaysia) and the third place was won by Nanyang Polytechnics (Singapore).

Meanwhile, for the cloud category, the STEI ITB team won first place, which consisted of 3 Telecommunication Engineering students (Bagas Purwa Sentika, Pambudi Adhiluhung Title, and Muhammad Nawaffarras Mahendika) and 1 instructor (Abdul Latif, ST, MT).

The Huawei ICT Competition 2020 Asia Pacific Regional Final was held online and was attended by several universities from various countries in the Asia Pacific region, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Philippines and Thailand. This competition was held in two categories, namely network and cloud. Skills and abilities of students were tested hands-on in Huawei network and cloud devices during the competition.

The two ITB teams who won, namely the network and cloud team, will later represent Indonesia in a more prestigious event, namely the Huawei ICT Competition 2020 Global Final at the world level which brings together representatives of other regional champions.
