SEEI ITB Hosts Guest Lecture “Indonesia’s Digital Financial War: Banks vs Fintech vs Big Tech”

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) ITB held a guest lecture titled “Indonesia’s Digital Financial War: Banks vs Fintech vs Big Tech” in collaboration with Hana Bank Indonesia. The event, held on Friday, 5 December 2025 at the East CC Auditorium ITB, was attended by SEEI ITB students and served as a platform to understand the evolving competitive landscape of digital financial services.

The session featured two speakers from Hana Bank Indonesia: Poppy Nirmala Dewi (Head of Branch Service & Governance) and Kristian Kharisma Himawan (Information Security and Governance Head). Both speakers presented insights on the development of Indonesia’s financial industry from the perspectives of literacy, security, and digital innovation.....

The materials covered an overview of financial literacy across countries, key components of digital competition such as customer experience, processes & pricing, data & analytics, tech landscape, as well as the domains of risk, compliance, and cybersecurity. Participants were also introduced to various forms of cyber attacks and cyber threats, along with common weaknesses found in digital systems that could serve as entry points for security breaches.

Through this guest lecture, students gained a deeper understanding of relevant issues in the growth of digital financial services and the importance of information security within the banking industry.
