SEEI ITB Receives a Visit from Bakamla RI for Benchmarking of the National Maritime Security Information System

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI), Institut Teknologi Bandung, received a working visit from the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Badan Keamanan Laut Republik Indonesia/Bakamla RI), led by Mayor Bakamla Wahyu Sigit Purwoko, S.Kom., M.T., on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The activity, held at the SEEI ITB Faculty Lounge, Labtek VIII Building, 2nd Floor, Ganesha Campus, was part of the work program of the Directorate of Data and Information of Bakamla RI for benchmarking related to the National Maritime Security and Safety Information System (SIKKLN).

This benchmarking activity was conducted to gain insights and learning from the academic community regarding the management and development of reliable and integrated information systems, particularly in supporting security and safety functions in national maritime areas. Through this activity, Bakamla RI sought to study approaches and applications of relevant information technology within the academic environment as input to strengthen the institution’s internal information systems.

During the activity, the Bakamla RI team held discussions with SEEI ITB faculty members specializing in information technology, telecommunications, and software engineering. This discussion served as a forum for the exchange of knowledge and perspectives related to the development of information systems that can support national maritime security.

The activity took place in a formal and productive atmosphere, with the hope of strengthening collaboration between Bakamla RI and SEEI ITB in efforts to realize a more integrated and efficient maritime information system in the future.
