SEEI ITB Holds Creativity and Teamwork Workshop to Enhance Student Well-Being and Collaboration

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) successfully organized a workshop entitled “A New Beginning of Journey of Happiness.” The event was held on Saturday, 14 September 2024, at the KOICA Building, ITB Jatinangor Campus, and was specifically designed for students during the first week of the academic semester. ..

The workshop was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of ITB, who in his remarks expressed hope that the activity would boost students’ motivation and skills. Dr. Widyawardana Adiprawita, S.T., M.T., Vice Dean for Resources of SEEI ITB, was also present and delivered a welcoming address emphasizing the importance of creativity and collaboration for academic and professional success. .. ..

The main objective of the event was to enhance students’ creativity and teamwork skills. In interactive sessions led by John Martono, S.Sn., M.Sn., popularly known as Captain John from the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD), together with the ITB Metaverse Lab team, participants gained in-depth insights into creativity theory and practice, brainstorming techniques, as well as team dynamics and teamwork strategies. Other topics discussed included conflict management and collaboration within teams, which are essential for achieving success in both academic and professional environments. . . . .

Captain John, who has long been involved in the arts, explained that art has become an inseparable part of his daily life. He noted that all of us actually live within art, even if we may not always realize it. In the spirit of collaboration, Captain John introduced the hashtags #SeniBersama and #BersamaSeni. According to him, although the activity involved elements of art, ultimately all aspects of life—whether directly related to art or not—contain their own artistic elements, such as the art of social interaction and relationships.

Captain John emphasized that this activity serves as an initial step in familiarizing students from various disciplines with collaboration to create meaningful change and benefits for the wider community. Through this workshop, students are expected to be better prepared to face academic challenges while enhancing their collaborative and creative abilities.

As a closing activity, participants were invited to take part in a creative mural project, fostering a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.
