Digital Literacy Training for SEEI ITB Lecturers and Koharmatau to Enhance Data Awareness and Security
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – A team of lecturers from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) ITB, in collaboration with the Indonesian Air Force Materiel Maintenance Command (Koharmatau), Bandung, organized a training program titled “Digital Literacy Training: Enhancing Awareness and Data Security in the Digital Era.”
The training was motivated by the rapid increase in digital device usage, which has been accompanied by a growing number of cybercrime tactics. Various threats such as data breaches, phishing, digital fraud, and the rise of online gambling pose real risks that can result in both financial and psychological losses.
This activity was initiated by SEEI ITB lecturers Dion Tanjung, S.Kom., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Ir. Robithoh Annur, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., as part of the university’s contribution to community service. The training was held on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at Koharmatau, Bandung, and was attended by all Koharmatau personnel, with the aim of strengthening their understanding of the importance of personal data protection and vigilance against cybercrime threats.

During the session, participants received four main modules covering an introduction to cybersecurity, personal data protection, understanding cybercrime tactics such as phishing and scams, and increasing awareness of the risks associated with online gambling.
Based on the evaluation results, there was a noticeable increase in participants’ awareness, understanding, and alertness toward cybercrime tactics. Participants, ranging in age from 21 to 56 years, stated that the knowledge gained was highly beneficial and applicable both in the workplace and in everyday life.
Through this initiative, the SEEI ITB lecturer team hopes to contribute to strengthening digital resilience within society, particularly in strategic institutional environments.
