SEEI ITB Students Win Championship at Garena Game Jam 2025
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The Flying Dutchman team, consisting of Muhammad Jafar Fadli (SEEI ITB), Luzhanifa Savina Yasmine (SITH ITB), and Izzah Imani (FSRD ITB), successfully won the championship at the Garena Game Jam 2025, held on 24–26 January 2025 at Universitas Ciputra Surabaya. The competition was participated in by 130 participants and challenged young developers to create a game prototype within 48 hours under the theme “2 Buttons”. . . . . ..
In his statement, Muhammad Jafar Fadli revealed that their different academic backgrounds became a unique challenge in the game development process.
“I come from the Telecommunication Engineering Department, Savina from the Bioengineering Department, and Izzah from the Visual Communication Design Department. It turned out that we were able to find one idea that we could all agree to develop. Honestly, we were not confident that we would win, because when we started brainstorming, our backgrounds were already very different,” said Muhammad Jafar Fadli. .
However, their hard work and creativity paid off. Within the limited time available, the Flying Dutchman team successfully developed a game titled “Rottasella,” an innovative puzzle platformer that aligned with the assigned theme. Using only two buttons, players are challenged to control a character in a wheelchair, navigating various obstacles designed to test logic and strategy. .. . .

Garena Game Jam 2025 is an event organized by Garena Indonesia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia. The event not only served as a competition platform but also as a space for young developers to network and learn directly from professionals in the game industry. .. .. ..
