Integrating Research and Industry: Laptop Grant for SEEI ITB Realized Once Again
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id — The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Institut Teknologi Bandung (SEEI ITB), received a laptop grant based on a motherboard designed and developed by the Microelectronics Center (PME) team. The handover of the devices was carried out by Ir. Farkhad Ihsan Hariadi, M.Sc., as the team leader, to SEEI ITB on July 16, 2025.
The motherboard that serves as the core of these devices was developed by the Microelectronics Center team through a research process funded by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti) through the Kedaireka program. The innovation was then realized in the form of laptops through collaboration with Axioo as the hardware manufacturer, and supported by Intel technology.
The donated laptops represent a tangible manifestation of synergy between higher education institutions and the domestic industry sector as well as international partners. This collaboration demonstrates how academic research outputs can be integrated into the production process to create ready-to-use devices, while also reflecting national technological self-reliance.

As the grant recipient, SEEI ITB will utilize these devices to support various academic activities. The use of these devices is expected to enhance the quality of the learning process across relevant aspects, while also enriching supporting facilities for teaching and learning activities. The presence of these devices constitutes a positive contribution to strengthening the implementation of more effective and efficient academic activities.
This grant also reinforces the continuity of previous initiatives. In June 2025, SEEI ITB received three laptop units resulting from Kedaireka research from the same team, as reported on the official SEEI ITB website . . (Read: SEEI ITB Receives Laptop Grants Produced by Researchers under the Kedaireka Program). This further underscores the consistency of the PME team in encouraging the downstreaming of research outputs and reflects a shared commitment between the academic community and industry partners to promote the utilization of campus research results into applicable and impactful products. In the context of higher education, this step forms part of the drive to ensure that research outcomes do not stop at publications, but can also be implemented in the real world.
SEEI ITB expresses its appreciation to the research team for their contributions and dedication in advancing research-based innovation that supports the strengthening of the technological ecosystem within the campus environment. Through collaborations such as this, ITB continues to strengthen its role in supporting the advancement of national technology based on science and engineering.
