The STEI ITB Team Sweeps the Huawei ICT Competition 2020 at the Asia Pacific Level

The STEI-ITB team won first place and a clean sweep of two categories in the Huawei ICT Competition 2020-Regional Asia Pacific: network and cloud. Originally scheduled for March 2020 in the Philippines, the competition was postponed to September in Thailand. However, it was finally held online on October 18, 2020.

The first team to win 1st place in the network category consisted of 3 students and 1 instructor, namely: Afif Tri Farhan (Telecommunication Engineering), Joshua Christo Randiny (Informatics Engineering), Putu Priyana Pradipta (Telecommunication Engineering), and Rifqy Hakimi, ST, MT (lecturer at STEI ITB). This achievement improved on the previous achievement in the same event which won third place in 2019. Second place was won by the University of Malaya (Malaysia) and third place by Nanyang Polytechnics (Singapore).

Meanwhile, for the cloud category, the first place was also won by the STEI ITB team consisting of 3 Telecommunication Engineering students (Bagas Purwa Sentika, Gelar Pambudi Adhiluhung, and Muhammad Nawaffarras Mahendika) and 1 instructor (Abdul Latif, ST, MT).

Meanwhile, the cloud team consists of Abdul Latif (3rd from top left), Bagas Purwa Sentika (3rd from top right), Muhammad Nawaffarras Mahendika (2nd from bottom right), Gelar Pambudi Adhiluhung (4th from top left)The Huawei ICT Competition 2020 Asia Pacific Regional Final was held online and participated by universities from several countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines, and Thailand. The competition was divided into two categories: network and cloud. The competition focused on students' hands-on skills and abilities with Huawei network and cloud devices.

The two winning ITB teams, namely the network and cloud teams, will later represent Indonesia in a more prestigious event, namely the Huawei ICT Competition 2020 Global Final at the world level, which brings together representatives of other regional champions.

To the STEI ITB Team, congratulations and success in achieving brilliant achievements at the Asia Pacific level and hopefully they can once again bring honor to Indonesia's name at the Huawei ICT Competition 2020 Global Final in November 2020.
