Colosseum 2.0: Inspire Through Mobile’s Technology
The ITB Informatics Student Association (HMIF ITB) once again held an Information and Technology (IT) festival. The festival, called Colosseum 2.0, took place on Saturday (October 26, 2013) at the East Campus Center Auditorium and the West Campus Center Field.
The theme of Colosseum 2.0 this time is "Mobile's Technology Nowadays." Departing from the increasingly sophisticated development of technology and this has caused society to depend on technology. To address this, Colosseum 2.0 seeks to inspire the public through works in the field of technology packaged in a series of events, namely Exhibitions, Seminars, and Talkshows.
Showcase Your Achievements
The Colosseum 2.0 exhibition showcases various works by ITB Informatics students who have achieved numerous achievements. These works include Niew's Tale, Time Skate, Traveler's Diary, Tebak Nusantara, Zoo Catch Back, Buspot, Broomlight, and others.
There were also booths from start-ups and IT communities, including companies like Doku, Teluu, and Square Enix Smilewo.
rks, and Google Student Ambassadors graced the exhibition.
This exhibition is different, featuring a game called Game Quest. Game Quest is a special experience for visitors. Visitors will be given a Quest Card from the Game Quest booth and given several missions. Each completed mission earns points. Upon completion, visitors can exchange their points for attractive prizes and a chance to win a Nintendo 3DS XL.
"With Game Quest, we want to provide a different exhibition. Here, visitors will interact more with the Colosseum 2.0 series of events," said Alif Raditya Rachman (Informatics Engineering 2011), head of the Colosseum 2.0 event.
Perkembangan Industri Game
In addition to the Exhibition, Colosseum 2.0 also held seminars and talk shows. "The Development of the Game World Today and Its Competition in the International World" was the topic at the IT Colosseum 2.0 seminar. The seminar presented Hiroaki Kanamaru, CEO of Square Enix Smileworks. Games are a product of technology that is developing very quickly. Today's games have experienced improvements from the past. Increasingly diverse game genres, increasingly pleasing graphics, touching storylines, and a wider market, have caused the game industry to compete to occupy the market.
The Colosseum 2.0 talk show also had an equally interesting theme. The theme of the talk show was "Start-up Story: From Where It All Began." The talk show featured speakers from the CEOs of Suitmedia and Agate Studio. Suitmedia and Agate Studio are start-up companies operating in the gaming industry. Both start-ups shared their stories of starting their start-ups, which were initially challenging and ultimately led to success. The seminar and talk show participants were very enthusiastic about the event.
"Colosseum 2.0 is here to inspire. With these events, we're confident that at least one or two people will start their dreams here," Alif concluded.
