SEEI ITB Team Wins Champion Title at the Innovation Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – A student team from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) successfully achieved champion status in the Innovation Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025, an information and communication technology competition organized annually by Huawei.
The Huawei ICT Competition consists of four main tracks: network, cloud, computing, and innovation. In the Innovation Track, participants are challenged to present technological innovation ideas that have a real impact on society. Through this competition, students not only sharpen their technical skills but also their innovative thinking and idea presentation abilities.
The success of the SEEI ITB team was inseparable from the collaboration of various parties. The team expressed its appreciation to the instructor, Mr. Abdul Latif Sungkar, who consistently provided strategic guidance throughout the preparation process. Support also came from SEEI ITB, the Telecommunication Engineering Study Program, as well as moral encouragement from peers at IMT “Signum” ITB and from the team members’ parents.
The team acknowledged that the journey toward becoming champions was not easy. The process began with registration that nearly missed the deadline, challenges in meeting the required number of team members, and the need to divide time with the completion of final projects. These time constraints instead became a driving force for the team to work harder, focusing on designing innovations based on Huawei technologies and honing presentation skills so that the ideas delivered could be well understood by the audience.
The Innovation Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025 was conducted on a timeline that began in November 2025. Innovation presentations to Huawei were held on 8 December 2025, while the awarding ceremony took place on 22 December 2025.

The entire competition series was conducted online. The SEEI ITB team utilized the Smart Classroom at Labtek VIII, 4th Floor, to deliver presentations to Huawei. Meanwhile, the awarding ceremony was held in a hybrid format, centered at the Huawei Office in Jakarta and attended online via Zoom.
The team’s interest in participating in the Huawei ICT Competition stemmed from the competition’s reputation as a prestigious event in the field of information technology. Observing the implementation of the competition in previous years, the team was motivated to implement its innovative ideas, particularly by considering the potential application of technology in the healthcare sector. Strong teamwork and intensive support from the instructor were key factors in maintaining consistency in idea discussions, implementation planning, and the preparation of optimal presentations.
In terms of strategy, the team emphasized the importance of time management and clear role distribution for each member. With this approach, each member could delve into Huawei technologies according to their focus, while also packaging technical solutions into presentations that were simple, engaging, and storytelling-based. Intensive presentation practice and continuous guidance from the instructor were the key to the team’s success in achieving the champion title in the Innovation Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025.
