Kuliah Umum dari Prof. Eryk Dutkiewicz-Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia
Pada hari Jum’at tanggal 6 Februari 2015 waktu 9.00-11.00 WIB bertempat di Ruang Multimedia Lt.2 Labtek 8 STEI, akan diselenggarakan kuliah umum dengan judul “Research Challenges for Wireless Technologies in Next Generation Medical Implant Devices” dari Professor Eryk Dutkiewicz.
Title: Research Challenges for Wireless Technologies in Next Generation Medical Implant Devices
Abstract: Wireless technologies offer significant opportunities to support remote patient monitoring in an unobtrusive, reliable and cost effective manner thereby providing personalized sustainable services to patients. Medical Body Area Networks (MBANs) form one such emerging technology. MBANs need to provide highly reliable and low power communications for medical devices, especially those implanted in the human body. In this presentation we provide an overview of research activities into MBANs and associated technologies for medical implant devices including research conducted at Macquarie University that focuses on neurological and cardiovascular applications.
Professor Eryk Dutkiewicz has over 25 years of industrial and academic research experience. From 1999 to 2004 he worked at Motorola where he managed a wireless research laboratory. Since returning to academia he has worked closely with industry partners on projects involving ultrawideband technologies, wireless sensor networks, mesh networks, LTE and 5G networks. He currently works at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, leading the Macquarie University WiMed Research Centre. His research interests are in resource optimization for wireless medical body area networks and broadband communications networks. He has also held visiting appointments at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, City University of Hong Kong and Coventry University. He is an author of over 180 research papers and several book chapters.
