The JAV hacker team from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has chosen to represent Indonesia to the ASEAN level hacking competition in Bangkok Thailand in November 2017, after winning the national cyber competition “Cyber ​​Jawara” at “Code Bali 2017” event in Legian, Kuta, Bali , September 26-28.

“At the awarding night on Thursday (28/9), second position was achieved by Us Usagi Security from University of Indonesia and third position from the Bogor Agricultural University team, Neither Fast Nor Accurate,” said Chairman ID-SIRTII as the organizer of Cyber ​​Jawara competition, Dr. Rudi Lumanto, in Kuta, Bali, on Friday.

The team that won composed of Jason Jeremy Iman, Aufar Gilbran and Muhamad Visat Sutarno. They managed to excel slightly from their closest competitor, Tim Usagi Security from the University of Indonesia, then the third position team “Neither Fast Nor Accurate” from IPB.

“We did not expect to win because the test was very varied, complicated and challenging,” said Jason from the ITB team.

Moreover, the weight of the problem is also more difficult than last year, said Chairman ID-SIRTII, Dr. Rudi Lumanto. “I’m sure the winner of this year’s quality is much better than the previous year because of the variations of the problem that is getting more and more difficult,” he said.

He expects heavier weight problems that could push the champions more spirit to be able to pass in the ASEAN level hacking competition in Bangkok Thailand in November.

Similarly, the chairman of the committee “Cyber ​​Jawara 2017”, Miftah Setiadi, admitted there was a chase score when the game attack and defense. In this game all the groups attack each other and maintain each server.

“Game attack and defense is the most decisive apart from digital forensic games, reverse engineering challenge and reporting or reporting,” said Miftah.

The 2017 National Cyber ​​Hacker Competition was followed by 172 teams through an online allowance of five zones. Zone 1 in Sumatera-Kalimantan, Zone 2 in Banten-Jakarta-West Java, Zone 3 in Central Java – Jogjakarta, Zone 4 in East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Zone 5 in Sulawesi-Maluku-Papua.

From the 11-team elimination filter, the team added three teams of competition champion “hacker” between Indonesia, the champion team of Cyber ​​Defense Competition held by the Ministry of Defense and also added a team of TNI AU and Navy, so 18 teams undergo the final round at Legian Kuta with international conference and workshop event Code Bali 2017.
