However, sometimes this energy cannot be distributed to all components of society due to technical or availability issues. This inspired the DISTRIBUTE-IT Team to create the paper \"Business Model for Integrated Electricity Generation.\"<\/p>\n<div>With 3 members, namely Kevin (Mathematics 2015), Gregorius Arthur Widiarto (<a href=\"https:\/\/stei.itb.ac.id\/id\/pendidikan\/sarjana-tenaga-listrik\/\">Electrical Power Engineering<\/a> 2015), and Johan Poernomo (<a href=\"https:\/\/stei.itb.ac.id\/id\/pendidikan\/sarjana-elektro\/\">Electrical Engineering<\/a> 2016), the team successfully submitted an idea for a business model for generating electricity using renewable energy and won 1st place in the Paper Competition at the 2019 PLN Unjuk Energi Competition.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\"What we discussed in our paper is offering a new business model to PLN: a profit-sharing model. This makes consumers not just customers but also providers who distribute the energy if there's a surplus. Consumers who distribute the electricity will earn a profit, and PLN, as the central provider, will also profit,\" Kevin said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>When met by an ITB Public Relations Reporter, Johan said that they had been preparing for this competition for about three months. He explained the technical aspects of the competition. \"So first there was the paper submission stage, the semifinal stage at the PLN West Java Main Production Unit, and finally the final stage at Gajah Mada University at the end of April 2019. In the semifinal and final stages, we presented our ideas. The difference was, in the final, we presented our ideas in front of the PLN central officials directly,\" he said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Widiarto said that to finalize this idea, his team consulted with lecturers from the Electrical Power Engineering Study Program about electrical theory and lecturers from the Architecture Study Program about the house design. \"Of course, in working on this, we also studied the design of a house that is suitable and safe for electricity to flow or distribute. In addition, we would like to thank the lecturers with whom we consulted as well as the Head of the Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA ITB, Electrical Power Engineering STEI ITB, and Electrical Engineering STEI ITB for their support to us,\" he added.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>They encountered obstacles during the paper's development process. Widiarto said his team struggled to analyze the system because the data they obtained wasn't detailed, making it difficult to model their electricity distribution approach. \"The solution was to consult with our lecturers and consult relevant literature,\" he explained.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Their motivation for participating in the \"Development Business New Edge\" competition was to implement the knowledge they'd learned in college and impact others. They also wanted to share their ideas with practitioners, especially PLN, Indonesia's electricity provider.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\"Competitions are a platform for sharing ideas. By participating, we can learn a lot, especially when we meet other people.
