Google sketched his face against a background resembling a transformer and coiled cables. At first glance, all these elements appear to form the words \"Google.\"<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Samaun Samadikun is known as the Father of Indonesian Microelectronics. He was born in Magetan on April 15, 1931. Hovering over the illustration will display the text \"Samaun Sadikun's 85th Birthday.\"<\/p>\n<p>Samaun was registered as a student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at ITB in the early 1950s. He then obtained a master's degree in 1957 and a doctorate in 1971. His doctorate was obtained in electrical engineering from Stanford University in the United States. He also obtained <em>postgraduate diploma<\/em> field <em>nuclear engineering<\/em> from Queen Mary, University of London, in 1960. In 1975, he and KD Wise created a patent, US Patent No. 3,888,708 entitled \"Method for forming regions of predetermined thickness in silicon\" at Stanford University.<\/p>\n<p>Samaun served as a bureaucrat. He served as Director of Academic Facilities Development at the Higher Education Directorate General (DIKTI) from 1973 to 1978; Director General of Energy at the Ministry of Mining and Energy from 1978 to 1983; and Chairman of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences from 1989 to 1995.
