The Biomedical Engineering Research Group of STEI ITB (KK BME), in collaboration with the Emergency Ambulance (AGD 118) and PT. Tesena, is currently developing a Tele ECG device, a device capable of transmitting ECG signals from patients in ambulances in real time to hospitals and doctors. This device is highly needed in emergency situations, where patients require immediate consultation and medical services.<\/p>\n

\"tele-ekg\"The patient's ECG signal, the ambulance's position and a photo of the patient's condition in the ambulance are digitally sent to the hospital and doctor. In addition to the ECG signal, the ambulance's position on the way obtained by GPS and a photo of the patient's condition are also sent simultaneously, so that the hospital can estimate the ambulance's arrival time and the doctor can monitor the patient's condition in real-time through the sent photos. In addition, the receiving hospital can prepare the facilities needed by the patient and the doctor can immediately provide instructions for actions or treatments that need to be carried out by the ambulance officer.<\/p>\n

This breakthrough is part of the KK BME research activities with the theme 'Providing expertise (doctors) at the time and place needed<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n

In the first trial on February 4, 2016 in Bandung, ECG signals from an ambulance (which was driven around the Bandung urban area) were transmitted and monitored by doctors at the ITB campus. All parties involved were satisfied with the results obtained and agreed that at the end of February 2016, this trial would be repeated in front of the Minister of Health in Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The ECG device used in this system is manufactured by PT. Tesena, also designed by KK BME. Further development of this trial will involve formulating a business model and integrating the interests of users: hospitals, doctors, and ambulances.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
