As the overall champion, STEI ITB was entitled to take home the rotating trophy -<em>Samyakbya-Padesa-Widya<\/em>\"which means \"correct information for knowledge\" and was originally held by a team from the University of Indonesia. At the 8th GEMASTIK event, 3,074 teams from across the archipelago competed for the championship.<\/p>\n<p>GEMASTIK or the 2015 National Student Exhibition in Information and Communication Technology, is a program of the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DP2M) DIKTI, as an effort to improve the quality of students so that they are able to take on the role of agents of change in advancing ICT and its utilization in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>For the past seven years, the National Student Exhibition in Information and Communication Technology (GEMASTIK) has been held continuously. This event is expected to provide a platform for channeling student creativity in the development of Information and Communication Technology at the national level. As a vital pillar of national development, students are expected to improve their ICT skills and develop their immense potential as agents of change through the development of science and technology now and in the future.<\/p>\n<p>In this event, nine competition categories were held and for each category ITB managed to achieve proud achievements. For the Smart Device Category, ITB won first place through the IC0S Team consisting of Gifari Kautsar (Informatics Engineering 2012), Marcelinus Henry Menori (Informatics Engineering 2012), and Fahziar Riesad Wutono (Informatics Engineering 2012). For the Data Mining Category, ITB again won first place through the LapanDua Team with members Winson Waisakurnia (Informatics Engineering 2012), Willy (Informatics Engineering 2012), and Susanti Gojali (Informatics Engineering 2012).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, for the ICT Business Development Category, ITB won third place through the Happy Three Friends Team consisting of Wira Gotama (Informatics Engineering 2012), Melvin Fonda (Informatics Engineering 2012), and Darwin Prasetio (Informatics Engineering 2012); then in the UX Design Category, ITB won third place through the YAKALEE Team consisting of Willy (Informatics Engineering 2012), Kanya Paramita (Informatics Engineering 2012), and Vidia Anindhita (Informatics Engineering 2012); Category<em>Programming<\/em>, ITB won second place through the RJK Team with members Kevin Valensius (Informatics Engineering 2011), Ryan Ignatius Hadiwijaya (Informatics Engineering 2011), and James Jaya (Informatics Engineering 2011), and won third place in the same category through the AINGE CP Team with members Luqman A.
