The event, held by Surya University and the Jakarta Regional Research Council (DRD), carried the theme \"Innovation for Solving Urban Problems.\" The winners were four people from various departments: <strong>Fawwaz Muhammad (Information Technology 2011)<\/strong>, Ahmad Imadudin (Industrial Engineering 2012), Randy Yoan Eksakta (Mining Engineering 2011), and Dian Anindya (Product Design 2012). In this event, students were tested to solve four main problems in DKI Jakarta, namely: <em>public service<\/em>, <em>living environment<\/em>, <em>street-preneur<\/em>, as well as <em>cultural harmony and branding<\/em>The ITB team chose the topic of public service by promoting a product called the Advanced Electronic Toilet Lock (TEC).<\/p>\n<p>The selection process began with the submission of innovative idea proposals. From approximately 106 proposals, the top 12 were selected to present to a panel of judges. In the final round, the top four groups from each topic presented their innovative ideas for three minutes to Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, better known as Ahok. After a rigorous judging process, the ITB team emerged as the first-place winner.<br \/>\n\"The initial idea was simple, we want people to be responsible for what they spend,\" said Imadudin. The idea of creating TEC is quite simple and does not require high technology. TEC is also considered superior in various aspects, starting from the funding aspect, as well as the application that is very possible to be implemented in the capital. Seeing the many public toilets that are in very concerning condition made Imadudin and his team moved to solve this problem.<\/p>\n<p>The working principle of the TEC is actually quite simple. The TEC, as a toilet lock, has a device that detects the ammonia odor emitted by humans during defecation. When the ammonia odor is detected, the lock system activates the solenoid to close, preventing the door from being opened. Therefore, the toilet user must flush the toilet thoroughly to unlock the door.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3896 aligncenter\" alt=\"bersama\" src=\"http:\/\/stei.itb.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/bersama.jpg\" width=\"463\" height=\"302\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\"The hope is that the knowledge available at ITB can collaborate and integrate with each other to apply it to society,\" added Fawwaz. ITB, as an institute that produces graduates from engineering, art, to business management, can answer the problems currently facing Indonesia.
